The largest living bird has been hunted since Roman times for it’s meat and hide.
Due to their large size, Ostriches have also been used to pull buggies, not a popular form of transport for long.
The distinctive leather that we recognise from the Ostrich comes about because of raised hole left in the skin, or a vacant quill follicle. Our scarf has a strong resemblance to the surface of Ostrich leather.
We adapted the pattern from the weave to a knit for this homey comforting friend.

Otto & Spike proudly knit everything in our little factory in East Brunswick. Occasionally popular items sellout quickly and we have to knit them especially for you.
